Events in Steam

Segments featured: 7th December 1996: Steam returns to the South Gippsland line. 11th and 12th of July 1998: Castlemaine – Maldon Railway Enthusiast Weekend . 18th July 1999: Y 112 ran a mixed train from Geelong to Camperdown.

We follow it as far as Colac. Easter 2000: 3801 and 3830 visit Victoria. Two mighty NSWGR 38 classes travelled to Melbourne and accompanied by R 761 and R 711, ran parallel between Wodonga and Broadmeadows on Good Friday of that year. 2000: Climax on the Puffing Billy Railway. Saved from destruction by a dedicated band of volunteers, this rare example of a 2’6” gauge “Climax” locomotive is seen in action at Lakeside and Menzies Creek.
We join the crew and travel on the loco towards Belgrave. 7th October 2001: Quadruple steam on the North East. Four steam locos, three R class and one K Class together, hauling a long train between Seymour and Melbourne.
